In our Vantage Point 2026 study, 70% of South Africans identified the economy as their primary source of anxiety, ranking it above corruption, violent crime and political instability.

This extends beyond economic concern. Financial pressure at this level influences how people make decisions, what they prioritise, and what they expect from brands, employers and institutions.
